    Clear choice

Posted by Joy Ng on Jun 8th 2021

I needed a height-adjustable chair to match my height-adjustable desk. As I read through reviews on chair after chair, and lists of 'best ergonomic chairs,' the Harwick Evolve was a clear winner for me. By comparison, I chose Evolve over other office chairs and drafting chairs regarding concerns of sturdiness and durability for weight capacity, seat material and comfort, adjustable arm rests, and option for stationary glides instead of casters. I listened to the reviews from other big and tall people. I'm a big and tall person weighing in at 215 lbs, with back problems and bad chronic joint pain and inflammation in my hands. I was able to assemble the chair on my own within an hour. The material feels very durable but lightweight and easy to handle. The chair in total is roughly 40-ish lbs. As a big person, the biggest test was sitting in the chair to find out the true weight capacity; While other chairs with 250 lbs weight limits seemed nice, a lot of reviews mentioned that the pistons gave out after a few months. I can plop into the Evolve, and push down on the chair with all my weight, without the piston failing. It holds me up without any signs of giving away and it can definitely take more weight. At its standard height and tilt, the front edge of the seat pushes the thighs up and after a long day it can make my hips sore; It took me a little while to figure out the tilt for the seat, but it is a matter of adjusting the chair to find the best positioning for your body's needs. While this chair is also available on Amazon for the same price, I preferred this site because of the direct option to purchase glides, for keeping the chair in place instead of rolling (The chair still came with casters). This chair was originally way out of my budget, but investing in a great chair— even if it isn't a Herman Miller— is still worth every penny.

    Harwick 2250D Drafting Chair

Posted by Jeffrey on Feb 25th 2021

This is a very well built chair; all the components feel solid and durable. It was easy to assemble - the only tool needed (allen wrench) is provided, along with a few extra screws (nice touch). It is comfortable although I still needed to add a cushion for lower back support. It would be nice if the arm height could be adjusted independently of the seat height, but overall this is a top quality chair and worth the money. Purchasing from Officechairsonsale was also great - shipped the same day I ordered.

    Solid, well crafted office Chair

Super fast shipping and easy to assemble (about 15 minutes). This chair is very comfortable, sleek looking and well made. So glad I trusted the reviews. Needed a home office chair and this fits the bill. Adjustable (up and down) and good for long legs.

very easy to put together. heavy duty feel to the parts. its very tall! a bit too tall for my desk. i sent an email asking if i could get a shorter gas lift and they sent me a link and told me the part number. very helpful staff here. the chair is very comfortable and i believe it will last.

    Very comfortable drafting chair

This is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. I use it with a standing desk working from home due to COVID. It's the right height for my desk and looks great!

Chair meets my needs without lots of bells and whistles. Shipped within 12 hours of the order, and arrived in a couple of days. Assembly went smoothly, although the instructions could be more clear.

    Great chair. Great customer service!

Posted by Unknown on Apr 23rd 2020

The chair is very comfortable and flexible for my needs as a person with back problems and working from home full time now. I received it in 2 days of ordering, had an issue with the cylinder being too high to fit my desk, and was sent out a new cylinder within 2 more days. Fantastic and thank you!

LOVE this chair BUT could use a couple improvements

Posted by Kelly R on Apr 3rd 2020

I spent the extra money for a more quality chair such as this one and absolutely LOVE it however after using it for about 3 months I have noticed some things that would greatly improve its comfort and increase the number of hours it can be used without hurting your body. The first unfortunate design flaw I've noticed is that the metal ring foot rest around the bottom of the chair doesn't have a wide enough diameter to comfortably be able to rest my feet on it flat. I use my chair at a drafting table and am unable to rest my feet flat on the ring no matter if I raise or lower the ring. It's become uncomfortable. The problem is that the ring doesn't extend far enough out from the chair. The ring diameter needs to be larger. As a result, my lower legs below my knee have to be angled backwards in order to rest on the ring. And because of this my feet need to rest on their tip toes on the ring and cannot be flat. It's causing a lot of discomfort. The alternative is to let my legs dangle from the chair which also doesn't feel good after awhile. The manufacturer should consider extending the diameter of the foot rest ring to much wider to accommodate comfortable leg and foot placement. If they did this this chair would be close to 5 stars. The second thing I'm noticing is the inability to raise or lower the arm rests up and down. This probably would require a change in the design of the arm attachment to the chair but for some reason I need to raise them higher to give my arms the support needed in order to not have discomfort over a period of a few hours. However you cannot do this. I love that you can swing the arms backward out of the way in order to pull the chair closer to a desk if you aren't using them but I don't really use this function unless I'm done working for the day and scoot my chair close to the desk. I'd rather be able to control raising and lowering the arm rests to help with ergonomics and support of my arms and shoulder muscles than be able to angle arm rests backwards out of the way. Just my two cents. I think these two things would make this chair one of the best chairs out there for it's price and I'd give it 5 stars at that point without hesitation. It's very cool looking and feels well made and sturdy but could be better designed for comfort. The lumbar and seat are very comfortable but that gets overlooked a lot when my lower legs and feet are uncomfortable and my arms are needing support under them to fit the correct height for my body type. Awesome product just take these suggestions into consideration if you are looking to buy and whether this would even affect you or not. Hopefully the manufacturer reads these suggestions. Thanks!

    Great chair

I have had the chair just a week but my back feels better after 10 hour days. It is a big improvement over the other drafting chairs I have used.
